Matt Rogers, senior advisor to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, tells a Congressional committee Wednesday that the so-called Section 1603 programme has supported more than 10,000 construction jobs and 2,000 ongoing jobs in operations and maintenance. Along with a tax credit for renewable energy equipment manufacturing, Rogers calls the grant “among the most successful clean energy job creation and innovation programmes under the Recovery Act”.
