The future looks grim for workers at Welcon’s factory near Campbeltown, Scotland, with rumours suggesting Skykon locked the facility’s doors after the holiday due to its inability to pay wages.
Århus-based Skykon was placed in administration in October, with observers suggesting the tower maker expanded too rapidly and suffered from quality issues. On 22 December the firm filed for bankruptcy in Denmark.
