Update: Meyer Burger bids for ailing PV kit rival Roth & Rau

Swiss PV equipment maker Meyer Burger has made a grab for Roth & Rau, launching a friendly takeover bid less than a week after the German company confirmed a 2010 loss and said it plans to lay off workers.
