A $737m loan guarantee from the Department of Energy (DOE) supporting the project’s debt was finalised days before a Friday deadline to close deals under the embattled Loan Guarantee Program.
A $337m loan guarantee for the 150MW Mesquite Solar 1 PV project in Arizona was also finalised. Project sponsor Sempra Energy plans to sell the output of the project to Pacific Gas & Electric.
