A consortium led by ScottishPower is launching a prototype carbon capture unit as part of its plans to develop the UK's first commercial scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology project at its Longannet Power Station in Fife, Scotland by 2014.
The partnership with The Climate Group - which works with businesses and governments around the world to accelerate a low carbon economy - will ensure that the CCS technology advances that are made are passed to nations like China, India and Brazil .
