Terna, Europe’s biggest independent power grid operator in terms of assets, will invest in further solar projects in 2011 and other energy-related areas, according to its chief executive Flavio Cattaneo.

New projects which the group hopes can secure higher returns on investments will be unveiled in the next business plan.

Terna says it signed an agreement with Terra Firma to transfer of 100% of the shares of Rete Rinnovabile (RTR) a company which it wholly controlled through SunTergrid.
