The Norwegian Government wants to build a full scale CSS plant at the Mongstad oil refinery outside Bergen. Statoil-Hydro has presented a masterplan describing the project. Its conclusion: possible to realise in technological terms, but very expensive.
Estimated costs for the total investment required reach around NKr25bn, StatoilHydro says.
But the group warns that these figures are very uncertain due to the fact that this is a project where the industry has no experience and because it involves a lot of new technologies.
