“We had a very strong Q1 despite some very difficult market times,” says chief executive Richard Thompson. “The Italian feed-in tariff, the rough winter, both in Australia, where we sell quite a bit of product, and in Germany... gave us a very unsettled market.”
The California company grew sales 61% from a year earlier to $245m.
In its Renewable Energy Solutions business – which produces a wide range of inverters for solar and wind projects – sales of $152m were up 85% and set a record for the company.
