Project finance is almost unheard of for small-scale renewables, but Christian Yates, a partner at Hazel, says the combination of the FIT and Quiet Revolution’s unusual vertical-axis technology presented an “enticing” investment opportunity.
Quiet Revolution, whose financial backers include the venture capital arm of RWE Innogy, intends to use the money to put up turbines at various windy sites around the country, such as road and rail corridors, and coastal sea defences and promenades.
