Fisker intends to use the capital to access a Department of Energy (DOE) conditional loan, which it says will hasten completion of its Karma, a four-door, plug-in hybrid electric sports car starting at $87,900 set to come on the market late this year.
A second plug-in hybrid, Project NINA, is also in Fisker’s plans. This vehicle would be targeted at the family market and be built in a former General Motors plant in Delaware beginning in 2012.
