LDK, based in Xinyu, Jiangxi province, says it expects fourth-quarter sales of at least $870m – 23% higher than its previous low-end guidance.

LDK forecasts quarterly wafer shipments of about 620MW, compared to the 569.5MW it delivered during the third quarter, reflecting the riptide of global demand for PV products seen toward the end of 2010, particularly in Europe.

Founded in 2005, China’s LDK has expanded feverishly to become the world’s largest maker of PV wafers.
