JA's earnings rocket as it balloons production capacity

Shanghai-based JA posted a full-year operating profit of 1.98bn yuan, compared with 93.7m yuan in 2009.

Shipments grew 187% to 1.46GW, with JA forecasting shipments in excess of 2.2GW this year as its customers continue mushrooming their production capacities at a pace some analysts consider reckless.

JA notched up revenues of 11.8bn yuan ($1.78bn) in 2010, compared to 3.8bn yuan the year prior.
