In its first Clean Energy Progress Report, presented to a raft of world leaders in Abu Dhabi, the IEA notes that while the wind and PV sectors have made impressive progress in recent years, “the success stories are being overshadowed by surging demand for fossil fuels, which are outstripping deployment of clean-energy technologies”.
“The past decade has seen a dramatic rise in global investment in renewable energy, led by wind and solar,” says IEA executive director Nobuo Tanaka.
