Goldwind also announced it will take a minority stake in the acquiring company Sinomatech, China’s leading blade manufacturer.
Jiangsu-based Tianhe Wind Power Blade was set up in 2007 and acquired by Goldwind at the end of 2010. At the time, many Chinese turbine makers were looking to bring component production in-house to lower costs.
However with profits in freefall at China’s top turbine manufacturers, Goldwind says it will be in a stronger position buying blades from outside.
“In
