GCL-Poly ended last year with an annual polysilicon production capacity of 21,000 metric tonnes (MT). The expansion campaign will see its capacity hit at least 25,000MT by the end of 2011 and up to 65,000MT by mid-2012, with the money to come from its balance sheet and loans.

The company, which is based out of Jiangsu province and listed in Hong Kong, says it is compelled to swell its output due to the rash of massive polysilicon supply deals it has inked in recent months.
