In 2007, the Commonwealth of Virginia State Corporation Commission approved the project, consisting of 20 2 megawatt (MW) wind turbines on private cow pasture covering parts of Allegheny Mountain near the West Virginia border.
Last summer, the director fo the Virginia DHR compained that the project did not comply with a condition placed on the project by Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the lead agency that coordinated its review.
