Evergreen Solar's production costs rise as it shuts US factory

Evergreen Solar, which last month stunned the US renewables sector by announcing plans to shutter its Massachusetts factory as it struggles against Chinese rivals, acknowledges that by late 2010 its production costs exceeded the sales price of its modules.
