Dong will retain a 50.1% stake, while Scottish & Southern Energy will hold onto the 25.1% share it bought from the Danish utility last December.
The investors – the Dutch Ampère Equity Fund, which is managed by sustainability-focused bank Triodos, and the pension fund PGGM – are expected to cover their pro-rata share of construction costs.
Dong will initially cover the funds’ share of construction costs, but they will eventually establish a project finance facility and pay the money back when the wind farm is finished.
