PG&E will buy an average of about 688 gigawatt hours a year from the Agua Caliente Solar photovoltaic plant under development in Arizona by NextLight Renewable Power – which First Solar recently announced plans to acquire. The 290MW project, on 971 hectares of agricultural land east of Yuma, received a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility from the Arizona Corporation Commission, clearing the way for construction to begin.
California regulators give green light to PG&E contracts
The California Public Utilities Commission gives the green light to two 25-year power purchase agreements signed by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), the state’s largest utility, for 335 megawatts (MW) of capacity.
