Abengoa Solar says it has received a certificate of environmental compatibility from the Arizona Corporation Commission, one of several key permits needed to begin construction of its Solana Generating Station solar power plant.
The plant in Gila Bend will have a capacity of 280 MW, which would make it the largest solar plant in the world if in operation today.
But the company says it still has a lot of work ahead.
