“One thing that’s notable is that whereas cap-and-trade took a lot of heat, the renewable proponents did quite well,” Rob Gramlich, a senior vice president at the industry group, tells Recharge.
Specifically, he points to victories for “wind energy champions” Harry Reid, the leader of the Democrats in the Senate, who, as the top target of Tea Party activists, was expected to lose in Nevada; Deval Patrick, governor of Massachusetts, and a proponent of the Cape Wind project; and Sam Brownback, a Republican from Kansas who left the Senate and to run for governor.
