Module prices in the US are expected to rise by about 12% this yera as Chinese players like Suntech, Yingli and Trina begin importing more cells from Taiwan and suspend some shipments to the US altogether, according to market researcher IHS iSuppli.
“The Commerce Department action will have a major impact on the North American solar market, constraining supplies and driving up prices for modules and systems,” says iSuppli analyst Mike Sheppard.
