In May Acciona was selected as one of eight finalists invited to submit a detailed application for the first round of the A$1.5bn ($1.48bn) Solar Flagships competition, which is intended to kick-start Australia’s moribund solar sector.
In the first round the government intends to partially fund two projects, one PV and one CSP, with the winner to be announced in mid-2011.
