YoshihiroIwasaki, CEO of Diamond Germany 1 Transmission – a joint venture between Mitsubishi andtransmission system operator (TSO) TenneT – told Recharge further Mitsubishiinvolvement could come in Germany, or in UK Round 2 or 3 projects.
TheJV was formed recently when Mitsubishi invested €576m ($755m) to buy a 49%stake in four German offshore grid connections from TenneT.
“Europehas taken a path of a massive build-up of renewable energies in its energypolicy, and offshore wind parks are a central part,” Iwasaki said during apresentation to the Hannover Messe industrial fair.
