French go-ahead for vertical-axis offshore wind site

The offshore testing site for a floating vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) being pioneered as part of the European Inflow project has been rubber-stamped by regional French authorities, clearing the way for installation of a pair of full-scale machines in the Mediterranean Sea next year.
