The substation and eight-legged steel jacket, each weighing around 1,800 tonnes, were fabricated at Bladt Industries in the Danish town of Aalborg, where they were loaded onto the barge.
The installation of the jacket will be carried out in almost 30 metres water depth. The substation topsides will then be lifted onto the jacket.
The substation will handle the electricity produced from the 77 wind turbines.
