Passed by the Czech parliament in November, the law imposes a 26% tax all feed-in tariff (FIT) revenue at PV systems larger than 30kW, effective immediately.

The European PV sector condemns the move, arguing that it will upend many local PV developers while permanently damaging the country’s reputation.

“This decision will clearly break [investors’] trust in the renewable technology as a reliable investment – and in the reliability of the Czech Republic as a safe place for investment,” says Eleni Despotou, secretary general of the European Photovoltaics Industry Association (EPIA).
