Eolica Dobrogea, which is developing Iberdrola Renovables’ giant 1.5GW Project Dobrogea, and Czech utility CEZ are putting the finishing touches to a legal settlement that aims to end a long-running dispute over land rights in the area around the villages of Fântânele and Cogealac.
The dispute erupted into a scandal when protests headed by the mayor of Cogealac, Cati Hristu — who was later jailed — led to violence and arrests last July.
