China’s massive renewables-led drive to become carbon neutral by 2060 is “changing the world”, and how it plays out has huge implications for access to key energy transition technologies, said analysts at Wood Mackenzie.
The Asian giant’s vast manufacturing capability in key fields such as wind, solar and battery storage, and its grip on supply and processing of many crucial raw materials, are helping its efforts to secure energy independence and to ensure the global energy transition “is stamped Made in China”, said the research group.
