German wind pioneer Enercon has stepped up plans to start using ‘zero-emission’ blade lifting technology after setting the seal on a order of an innovative battery-powered design from start-up Ematec.

The electro-hydraulic concept, called RBC-D-Green-Line, is engineered to be scaleable for rotor blades from 45-110 metres in length – covering all but the very biggest of models in the market – and weighing up to 35- 40 tonnes.
