The Orsted-Eversource Energy joint venture expects to have federal guidance shortly on permitting timelines for all its US contracted offshore wind projects, in an early sign that the industry is confident that providing it with the regulatory certainty it has lacked is a priority at the White House.

“President Joe Biden continues to express strong support for renewable energy in general and offshore wind specifically,” Eversource CEO Jim Judge said on an earnings call, adding that his administration is “clearly supportive” of accelerating the approval process for projects.
