Scotland highly-anticipated – and long-delayed – ScotWind offshore wind licencing round has suffered a further set-back, with plans now to review the set-up for the auction in the light of the contentious new ‘option fees’ structure used by the UK seabed landlord the Crown Estate in making its Round 4 awards earlier this week.
Crown Estate Scotland said the decision had been taken with the anointment Scottish government ministers “to help ensure that the process attracts major green investment to Scotland by delivering long-term economic and net zero benefits through a competitive and sustainable pipeline of projects”.
