Vestas' offshore wind journey opened a new chapter when MHI Vestas Japan officially began life on Monday to help the OEM's push into the fast-emerging Japanese market.
A new joint venture with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries reprises in a new form the partnership previously seen in the global market through MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.
The JV – 70% owned by MHI with the rest held by Vestas – will focus on expansion in both the Japanese onshore and offshore wind sectors from its new HQ in Tokyo under CEO Masato Yamada, former Asia Pacific regional manager of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind.
