Three UK power groups will build a link of up to 4GW to transport renewable electricity between Scotland and England in what will be one of the largest projects of its type globally.
Utilities SSE and ScottishPower, and network operator National Grid, committed to the Eastern Link project that will transport power from a swelling Scottish offshore wind base beneath the North Sea to northeast England.
