China’s Ming Yang Smart Energy (MYSE) said it will start building South America’s first offshore wind project by early 2022 after signing another co-operation deal in the Brazilian state of Ceará.

MYSE said a memorandum of understanding with the Pecém industrial and port complex (CIPP) is an “important step” towards construction of a pilot project off the state’s coast, with no further details given of its capacity or other technical parameters.
