Energy giants EDPR and Engie took the wraps off Ocean Winds as the identity for their new offshore wind joint venture, with ambitions to rival market-leader Orsted.

Ocean Winds will combine the offshore wind assets of Portugal’s EDPR and France’s Engie as they cemented a partnership first trailed by the two in early 2019.

Based in Madrid, the new business will be the exclusive investment vehicle for the fixed-bottom and floating wind ambitions of both companies.
