Aker Solutions is set to merge with fellow Norwegian contractor Kvaerner as it spins off its offshore wind and carbon capture businesses in a major energy transition drive, with chief executive Luis Araujo ousted.

Aker Solutions confirmed Friday that Araujo is being replaced by Aker BP’s senior vice president of operations and asset development, Kjetel Digre, who will take over the role on 1 August.
