Offshore wind entered a new phase in Asia when Japan launched the first of a series of tenders designed to kick-start large-scale development off its coasts.
The Japanese government on Wednesday launched a tender for the 21MW Goto Islands floating wind project, which will act as a trailblazer for larger fixed-bottom and floating projects as the nation seeks to auction 1GW-plus annually.
