A new leaked draft of the upcoming EU hydrogen strategy has emerged which shows that the European Commission has scrapped its initial plan to make green H2 cost-competitive within two years — it will now aim to do so by 2030 — while also calling for a large role for blue hydrogen (derived from fossil fuels with carbon capture and storage [CCS]).
