Spanish oil company Respol will build a €60m ($67.5m) plant near Bilbao to produce synthetic fuels made out of green hydrogen generated with renewable power and CO2 captured in a refinery of its Petronor subsidiary.
The company says the fuels will have “net zero emissions” as the refinery is “expected to be able to capture the CO2 directly from the air.”
