Orsted has agreed the sale of the transmission link for its Walney Extension offshore wind farm – at 659MW among the UK’s largest – to a consortium including several major Asian investors, in a deal that values the assets sold at £447m ($559m).

The Danish renewables developer and Walney Extension’s co-owners, pension funds PKA and PFA, will transfer the onshore and offshore substations and export cable to a special-purpose vehicle of Mitsubishi Corporation, HICL Infrastructure Company and Chubu Electric Power.
