The British government dealt a third blow within a few weeks to developer Vattenfall’s UK offshore wind plans by rejecting a proposed 340MW extension to its Thanet project off southeast England.
Energy secretary Alok Sharma refused to grant development consent for the Swedish utility to build the extension project next to the original 300MW Thanet offshore wind farm which has been operational since 2010.
