Vestas expects to grow further in the booming onshore and intertidal wind turbine sector in Vietnam, which the Danish OEM believes could swell into a 24GW market, Asia-Pacific president Clive Turton told Recharge.
“The size of the resource is huge,” Turton said in an interview, citing the country’s 3,000km coastline where wind speeds average seven metres per second.
“Vietnam is for sure the most interesting market in Southeast Asia right now … there really is good quality wind, and there are good opportunities.
