Solar could eclipse wind next year as the leading source of new renewable energy capacity on the US' ERCOT, which operates the grid and wholesale power market serving 90% of the electric load in the state of Texas, according to its latest projections.

ERCOT has been the country’s – and western hemisphere’s – largest wind market for 15 years and the coming transition toward solar will negatively impact supply chain companies and turbine OEMs accustomed to the annual bounty of multi-gigawatt orders from project developers there.
