Oil major Shell and Mitsubishi-owned Dutch utility Eneco plan to create a green hydrogen hub in the port of Rotterdam with an electrolyser capacity of around 200MW that as soon as 2023 could produce up to 60,000kg of the green gas per day.

The companies hope wind power for the electrolyser to transform electricity into green hydrogen will come from the 759MW Hollandse Kust North project.
