Orsted is “confident” of securing consent for its 2.4GW Hornsea 3 offshore wind project after addressing fears raised by UK conservationists – and expects to submit a planning application for Hornsea 4 later this year, the Danish group told Recharge.

A planning decision on Hornsea 3 was originally due last October, but the UK government pushed it back after planning officials received late advice from bird charity RSPB and Natural England claiming the wind farm, in conjunction with others in the area, would threaten gannet and kittiwake populations in the North Sea.
