UK trade union GMB has slammed the Scottish government and the country’s leading renewables industry association for their ongoing “failure” to bring promised renewables sector jobs to Scotland, after construction contractor BiFab announced further lay-offs at three of its fabrication yards due to a lack of orders.

GMB Scotland organiser Hazel Nolan said Scotland's minister of energy Paul Wheelhouse and the chief executive of Scottish Renewables Claire Mack “should hold their hands up and admit: ‘We are failing to bring the green jobs revolution to Scotland’.”
