China's government signalled an end to subsidies for offshore wind projects at the end of next year, according to reports, in a move that would leave the nation’s fledgling sector relying on its provinces for financial support it says it will need until 2025.
Ministry of Finance (MoF) officials are poised to enact a policy shelving the national subsidy for offshore wind and biomass projects from 2022, said local media citing industry sources, in what would be the first time Beijing has set a firm timeline for subsidy-free offshore wind.
