Warren Buffett’s NV Energy is seeking regulatory approval to add 1.19GW of solar PV capacity and 590MW of related battery energy storage at three sites by 2023 in southern Nevada, among the largest US commitments to both technologies.

Gemini is the biggest project. It comprises a 690MW PV array with a 380MW (ac) battery storage system, which developer Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners (with California-based Arevia Power) says it believes is the world's largest powered by solar.
