Brazilian renewable energy company Omega Geração concluded a R$1.9bn ($510m) acquisition of 303MW of wind as it races to top of the league of turbine operators in Brazil, consolidating an aggressive M&A strategy.

The acquisition will raise the company’s capacity to 1.05GW, ranking alongside China’s State Grid’s CPFL Renováveis (1.3GW of wind), British private equity fund Actis (1.3GW), Belgium’s Engie (900MW) and Italy’s Enel Green Power (840MW).
